Als toys

My windsurf toybox seems to keep growing, but still I don't have enough! I'm fairly happy with my selection of boards now, but soon want to trade in my 5.4m sail for a 5.0m and a 5.7m. I also want a 4.0m sail at some point and a 370cm mast to rig it on. I seem to be buying stuff from Gun Sails lately as their kit is good and the prices even better. I might need a large (7.2m) freestyle sail for the summer as well, and will probably need a 490 mast to rig it on too./P>

My Boards

At the moment I have the following boards:
F2 Max2Air 264 / Fanatic Cross 100.
Yet again this F2 board has been damaged, so concerned with it fragility I have given it back to Boardwise and asked F2 to inspect. Basically, everytime I fell off a new ding, crack or hole appeared in the board, even the slightest of knocks woudl crack the skin and in places along the rail I could push my fingerail through the skin..As yet I've failed to hear from them. Boardwise want me to just exchange the board for an older, cheaper secondhand board and forget about the Max2Air and have given me a Fanatic Cross 100. The Cross is fine and although quite bit smaller seems to get going almost as early as the Max2Air, but is nowhere near as responsive, espeicially in small waves. Still, at least it might stand up to normal sailing as the Max2Air certainly didn't.
F2 Axxis 278.
Now sold to Andrew who has a website on which it should appear once he learns to waterstart!
Hifly RX 265.
My indestrcutable, go anywhere do anything (as long as its windy enough) board. It might be old and heavy, but its bullet proof and goes OK. Its actually really nice in mad survival conditions with a tiny sail as its weight helps to keep it on the water.
Mistral Eruption.
A 257cm, 78 litre wave board that I bought in early 2002. Quite a fast little wave board that feels really nice. Unfortunately I bought it secondhand from Boardwise and after a couple of sessions a big crack developed in the side of the board. On closer inspection it was quite a big area of the board that had been repaired but wasn't watertight, so the board is currently out of action waiting until I can get it to a shop for a proper repair.
Hifly RX Wave 255.
Out of action due to a snapped nose! I didn't snap this, but it was snapped in the post on its way to me. Steve and I actually melted the nose of the board the other week and then stuck the molten plastic back together before strapping it up with duck tape...I don't think it will last very long, but it does a decent job of weighting half rigged sails down on the beach!
Bic Astro Rock.
Just been sold to Dave
Bic Samba.
A pink(!) board to match my Astro Rock. Its actually Anna's as she was going to learn to windsurf.

My Sails

The sails I have at the moment are:
Naish Noa 6.5m.
Just been sold
Gun 6.3m Groove
My newest sail and very nice it is too.
UP Wave Slalom 6.0m.
Presently gathering dust in the barn. Make me an offer
Gun Wave MC 5.7m.
A new sail that I haven't used yet, but hopefully it will perform as well as the 4.5m Gun Wave MC that I have.
Tushingham Scrambler 5.4m.
A nice sail, which has only been repaired four times!! Its on it last legs now and has therefore pretty much been replaced by my 5.0m Gun Wave MC and 5.7m Gun Wave MC
Gun Wave MC 5.0m.
A new sail that I haven't used yet, but hopefully it will perform as well as the 4.5m Gun Wave MC that I have.
Arrow Tomahawk 5.1m.
A 6 camber race sail that I use for 'speed' sessions in the estuary. An old but pleasant sail with lots of power. Not much use on my Max2Air or wave board though.
North Voodoo 4.5m.
A nice, well reinforced wave sail for those mad winter days. A lovely soft but powerful feeling sail with amazing build quality....Hmmm, so much for that as I managed to put myself through it a while back, but its all been repaired now and looks as good as new.
Gun Wave MC 4.5m.
My replacement for my Voodoo while it was being repaired. Actually very similar in performance, with a wide wind range and quite a bit of power for a small sail.
UP Wave slalom 4.5m.
Another sail gathering dust in the barn. Make me an offer
