Fuel prices keeping you away?

So where were you all at the weekend?

Sunshine all weekend and a seabreeze yesterday. There was hardly anyone around. Only Adam and Myself kitesurfing. One windsurfer out and a few buggies on the beach. I could see a few kites over Dovey late afternoon though.

Is it the price of fuel???????

I don't own any big kites now so decided to earn some points at home. Still water related though I empted all 4500 gals from my Koi pool and clean it out. It's been three years since I last did it so well due.

Kept the rest of the family amused as I slipped a few times.

Just knew there would be some wind, although had lots to do at home. Also went Badger watching that was cool too One of my better pics as the sound of the camera made them nervous.

Lol at AJ, did you have to walk to Tiree????????

Wait til you get to my age!

The boyz who went to Medano enjoyed 11 days sailing in solid wind and blazin sunshine.

I'm working this week, so only sailing and windsurfing for me.

Dunks

Hi Dunk,

well i certainly can confirm its the fuel price that makes me think twice.

last year a trip to borth and back was done for about £60-£65, this year its around £90. So unless it looks like going to be a good sail weather, which for me means more wind than most due to my extra poundage then I would not make the trip but do some stuff at home instead.

Not sure how far these prices will keep going but have seem some diesel sites at 1.35+ per litre now. Thats over £6.12 per gallon in old money.

Mark

We saw Diesel at £1.38 a litre at the weekend... Looks like I shall have to stay at the beach more and not drive anywhere.

I can top that Dunk - and there's just one of me!

That comes of living in the midlands, working on the East coast - and sailing on the West!

Ye, I spend £80- £100 a week on the pick up, and about 10-20 quid a week on the motor bike. I have to use the pick up for work, its either that or a lorry, and at least I save loads by using the motor bike to go see jobs, personal outa work stuff etc.

Its just a evil essential. I wish I could find a 1.3 litre vehicle that still carried a tonne!!!! ( oh and actually still moved). Must admit I would be re thiniking kite surfing if it cost me £90 a week to get to the beach. Should get yourselves, motor bikes with board racks and a tent I recon!!!
