I had planned to go in the morning, but on first inspection it looked
better to go in the afternoon. In hindsight it made little odds.
A typical very-offshore day at Brog. I went straight downwind and within 10
mins was planing up and down about 75%. The occasional shower came over.
Then it really picked up. On the 6.3 I was well powered up, did some nice
gybes, and got a few reaches from top to bottom of the lake. Very nice. On
port tack there was enough in the chop to do a few jumps.
Not many people there, maybe as it was cold. John B and some others went to
Grafham which is better on a northerly.
I came in for T after the wind dropped a bit, and I'd been practicing a bit
of free style.
Phil L had just bought a new 144 Carve and had spent half an hour
deflowering her. He had a good time! Later we went out as it looked like it
might be picking up again. It wasn't!
To finish the day, Phil helped a woman who'd arrived with her 4 kids at
5:45 complete with never used kit. They'd gone out and bought it all after
a Club Vass trip. She needed some help rigging, having never done it
B4!Nice for some.
