This weekends wind lottery

Here we go again with the lottery of what will happen wind and surf wise at the weekend.

Surf wise it looks fairly easy to predict... There won't be any!

Wind-wise, well as yet its anyones guess as always, but it does look as though we could get some Force 4-5 easterlies... These may of course be accelerated down the Dovey valley giving us some good conditions here. Trouble is high tides are around 7ish, so it'll be dark when theres water in the estuary... Has anyone got a decent set of floodlights!!!

Al.

Grrrr.... It was windy all night, and its windy out there again today, but I have to work all day today so will more than likely miss out.

Things are still looking good for the weekend though (for the first time in ages), we just have to find some water in the estuary!

It's looking v.wet down on the South Coast but with a good chance of F4 winds mid-day onwards so might be a good chance to get out and about.

Al, Looks like you'll be sailing in the dark on Saturday morning ! Rigging up in the dark could be interesting.

I'm working Sunday morning but that might mean a day off midweek next week on a day of my choosing....

I couldn't resist it today, and had to rearrange a couple of jobs and head to the estuary. The wind was really gusty to start with, but once on the water it sorted itself out and I had a really good kite-surf session, with a few pretty big jumps. Many of them weren't that high, but I certainly covered some distacne downwind on a few of the jumps.

Certainly glad I did that rather than going to work!! I have to make up for the lack of work tomorrow and on Saturday, so lets just hope it isn't perfect conditions for the next couple of days.

Its not actually looking too bad for the weekend now 15-20 knots Easterly on Saturday, 20 knts SE on Sunday.

I have to work Saturday Afternoon, so plan to try to catch some water before the tide goes out too far first thing on Sat morning... I'm planning to be on the beach riging at 7.30am and on the water by 8.00am if anyone else is up for it.... (Thats if theres wind of course, but with E's forecast there should be).

Not sure what my plans for Sunday are yet as SE's aren't great in the estuary... Maybe a rip around to Tywyn if the wind looks good.

Al.

P.S. Things are looking pretty lively for the second part of next week (typical as I have a bus week workwise lined up!)

My plan worked this morning... I had a nice hour on the water first thing, nicely powered up with my 6.3m

I could go out kiting now, but have to work this afternoon, so shall save my energy!
