New user from Rome, Italy

Hello from Rome. Watch the local beach webcam at http://www.corallobeach.it/beachcam/cam3.asp />
I usually windsurf a few hundred meters from there. On windy days, you will often see kiteboarders on the webcam but windsurfers will not be too far even if you don't see them. And if you want to know how warm/cold it is, check http://www.corallobeach.it/infowind/2.htm . Even if it's Italian you should understand most of it .. bye!

Hi fabriz,

When its cold, clear and not windy, I'll be sure to check out your beach.

Unfortunately we haven't got a webcam yet; there is one in Aberystwyth but it just looks up a street towards the beach, it doesn't show any action.

You'll have to fill in a diary entry, so we can all see what its like there.

Funny:
Just tried to check the webcam expecting a nice sunny beach that kind you see in the tourist catalogues.
But silly me, it is dark by now and so was the webcam's picture.

Rome Webcam

Dave and Joe, thanks for the replies.

Well, don't expect to see a tourist place there.. This a beach where people from Rome go during summer weekends but noone spend their holidays in this place.. even so it can get very crowded because it's only 20km from Rome. You can find people windsurfing or kitesurfing all year round. The sea can get rough but waves are too confused for proper riding. Winds for kitesurfing or windsurfing with large kit are quite frequent, whereas wave boards cannot be used very often. The beach faces SW and the best winds are from SE and WNW.

As for the darkness, you'll find daylight until 4 PM UK time in this time of the year. It will be 5 PM in Central Europe.

If anyone is interested in sailing in Italy, they should really look at Sardinia and Tuscany!

ciao
Fab
