NASA Kites
I'm back after a quiet spell.
After moving to Madrid and doing some power kiting over here, I've come across many people with some simple, but powerful, homemade
kites.
They call them NASA kites and they say you can get a program that gives you the cutting pattern for it, based on power and wind speed.
They use them a lot with buggies or for jumping.
I've tried some out and they are very manoeuvrable, on the spot turns and reverse flying, but with a very small power window. For their
cost and simplicity I think they are the way forward – it’s not so painful to rip something which costs 1/5 of normal ram
air, or foil, kites. I’m making myself a quiver of these kites.
Would anyone out there have a link to a site for buying kite materials? One that could deliver to Spain would be better.
Cheers,
Bandit
