Wind for Thursday?

So, are the NE's forecast for Thursday actually going to amount to anything?

Hi Justal how are you? I have seen the forecast and I hope that it will last.
Would you be able to tell me to which side of the Ynslas I should go if I ever get there on thursday or whenever it will be for my first time?
I have been looking at the recension about the spot on your website, and on the map on windguru...but I have not understood if I have to go all the way around (this would be by train ehheh) up to Aberdovey (according to the recension and by looking at the map the NE should not be a good condition), or if i have to walk the way up untill Afon Leri (it says so on the map)once i get off the bus in Ynslas.
I apologise for my ignorance but I have never been there and I do not really know the area.

Cheers

Michele

Hi Michele..

Your best bet will be to get the train to Borth and then the bus to Ynyslas. Get off the bus at the triangle in Ynyslas and then walk along the road until you get to the sands of the estuary.

In a NE you really want to be within the estuary and Ynyslas side is the best. It isn't too far to walk from the bus stop probably just under a mile), but there aren't that many trains and buses.

I'm hoping for an early morning session, but we'll have to wait and see what the wind does.

Al.

Hi Michele - I quite fancy going up to Ynyslas tomorrow if the forecast holds - did you have a time in mind - I could pick you up at the University in Aber...

Cheers,
Neal.

It seems to be picking up now - I knew it would as I now don't have time to get out before I have to do the school run.

Maybe I'll be able to fit in an evening session if the wind holds.

Just about... I got there at 4.30pm to be greeted with 30-40 knots winds and gorgeous sunshine. I couldn't get on the water until Anna got there to take Morgan off my hands, but I rigged up and waited.

Anna got there at about 5:20 and I got on the water. I had one run well powered until I got halfway down the speed channel and the wind just dropped. So much so that there was barely enough to water start.

I had a few more goes but there just wasn't enough wind by then. Frustrating would be one way to describe it!

I understand the feeling, and that's the right word (frustating) when you just get into the water and after a couple of go the wind drops off..
Well today there was an unexpected wind in Borth in the early afternoon..around 14-15 knots with sunshine!! Well i came a bit late but I still got a good hour in the water(well saying thwe truth water and sands lol) ..but it was good today out there!! Then the wind dropped at around 7 o'clock..
I am looking at the forecast - windfinder says that some wind may come in but windguru does not seem so promising..will see in the morning...

There is a bit of wind about at the moment (6am) - 22 knots Northerly. Not the best of directions and it's a little gusty, but the sun is shining.
