I'd try and get hold of an 07 if you can. The build quality on the 06 was a bit on the light side. If the kite has had a lot of use, you may end up with an expensive repair the first time you smack it into the water.

There will be some deals to be had on the 08 kite, as the new stuff is coming out. Try and buy the newest gear you can.

Cheers,

Simon

Hi,
I've got 2006 9 and 12 waroos, very happy with them, very easy to fly and will do anything. Build quality might be better on later waroos but to be honest I've not had any probs other than wear on bridle lines. I would buy newer if you can afford it but if you don't want to spend too much could well be a good buy.

I'd agree with that. If you can find an 06 kite which feels crisp and has not had much use, it will be a great kite. You can get some great deals if you are lucky. I've just swapped to 08 Waroo's, got 13m and 9m with a bar, all brand new for 900 quid.

Try and see the lite first if you can. Check for signs of abuse, check the bridles for wear etc. Have a good look at the canopy for pin holes, tears etc.

Cheers,

Simon

Hi Simon,
What do you think of the 08 waroos over the 06s would be interested in your opinion.
I do like mine, however I think the 12 is a little slow and the 9 doesn't seem rigid enough in the air at times, despite me putting shedloads of air in the LE. Also bar travel to depower is a bit far. Read a review of the new 09s which sound tempting hmmm
Cheers
Tim

I never flew the 06 waroo's, the 08's are the first ones I've owned. I've had 2 sessions on the 13 and I really like it. I have not had my 9m out the bag yet, but I'm on holiday in a couple of weeks and I hope to use it then.

I really like the way the 13 flies, seems really stable and really light on the bar.

I was flying Turbo Diesels when the 06 waroo's came out. I remember seeing them in Greece when I was on holiday, and they did look a bit unstable when they were near the top end of the wind range. I also saw a lot of them go pop, which I must admit put me off a bit.

If you see me on the beach, come over and have a go on the 08.

Cheers,

Simon
