Kite Surfers I need your help
Hi
I'm a final year degree student and I'm doing an assignment on subcultures within extreme sports. So here's a question:
is there any particular way you all tend to dress, or any specific lingo you use? Also if there's any type of music associated with the
sport. Any magazine specifically for kitesurfing? Is there anything that all kind of binds you together? Anything at all about your
subculture would be great
Cheers,
Laura

I think youll find that theres such a range of people that kite surf, that the only thing we all have in common is the fact that we
kite. The time of the typical long haired surfer has faded away, (well I think so any way cos my lovely long locks stopped growing).
Some of the boys, Col, Spooks and that lot seem to have a sub culture in that they all have nice rounded bellies, maybe thats what your
looking for??lol

I'd agree with Shem, everybody i know who kites does it because they love kiting. So many different personalities in this sport aswell
makes its quality.
Oh and Shem it didnt go un noticed that you seem to have handed back your captains arm band of the pie eaters club.

ah Shem shouldnt mock Spooks, when he comes back from cape verde he will be looking like his avatar!
oh what about our sub-culture: call it very cultured; nice cosy warm motorhomes; plenty of bubbly when we come off the water, after a
nice warm shower that is. excellent evening dinner whilst watching a good film on the satalite tv followed by good company/conversation
whilst slurping Caths cocktails and quaffing good real ale in central heated warmth. and to round it all off a nice sleep on a myar
foam mattress.
hard life this kitesurfing malarkey!
oh no then a 3hour drive home!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A KITE IS FOR LIFE!! THAT IS IF ITS A YARGA.
