it is a forum after all...you know, where people talk about things.....imagine al having to censor the posts and banning people for talking about motorbikes...

it does'nt, it's the petrol heads that offend. apparently.

he will need "L" plates if he has'nt got a full license and deffinately a number plate unless he's planning on riding on private ground.

Tell you what... I'll move the post to the 'General Forum' that way everyone's happy... the Petrol heads can talk about bikes n stuff and the people who don't want 'petrol heads' in the kitesurf forum can ignore the post if they wish.

He He

Carbon footprints?

Ok we all drive to the coast to enjoy something powered by nature, But to drive miles just to play on something else powered by petrol?????

Sorry I just don't get it?

I did the Climachx earlier with J de hat, it was fun and We used our legs!

Anybody wana join a campaign against Green-laners?

Just another thought, how many of us share a van to the coast??????

Some big vans out there with one person rattleing around in it. I've had 4 in mine, that was cosy!

Pleeeeeeeeese don't take offence, just my view

Good points about traveling there dunk. So I suggest that if you dont live within 5 mins of the coast, you shouldnt be allowed to kite surf, because your pollution caused by traveling is wrecking the sea for us local beach goers! ALSO instead of coming down in the camper use a more environmentally friendly motor bike to travel down and camp instead of camper van! (as you have a house here dunk, I shall allow you to carry on kite surfing).

An early rise to look at the forecast and the wind looks marginal so back to bed for me...................

Hope I don't regret it !!!!!!!!

Still I can sleep easy now - saves a trip up to North Wales solo, in a 2.5 litre, gas guzzling, evironmentaly unfriendly V6 ........... :-)

hey, what's all this activity against people who live far from the sea ?

i would love to live near the sea, but there are not enough jobs paying a salary suitable to be able to afford to live and have enough spare to enjoy a beach lifestyle.

i may be guilty of having a large van and a boat, but i justified it on the basis of having space to take 2 or 3 mates so we didnt have to take 2 or 3 cars and then buying the boat as i wanted something to do which was still "water active" for when the wind didnt blow and didnt want to feel i wasted the drive over.

i could equally argue, that there are 100's of people who turn up in my back garden of the peak district each weekend ; many on bikes as i live 3 miles from Matlock ( so all you bikers will know of it ). So are only peak district residents allowed to be rock climbers ?

I know or rather hope Shems / Dunks comments were tongue in cheek, but it's a balance between having a great country to enjoy or to sit at home and go to B&Q each weekend.

Glad I use a wheel-barrow to get my kit to the beach... Wouldn't want to be accused of polluting as well as being a pole-dancer, I mean windsurfer!

You can keep your rocks Loxely weve got plenty of them here as well!! Oh and roads for biking on as well.

LOL!

On a serious note, I know of so many people that live inland that say theyd love to move to the coast but there arent the jobs with good enough salaries to keep them! Personally I think its all down to choice however. If you wanna live inland and work and just get in the sea occasionally then fine, but then dont turn around and tell me Im lucky to live near the coast, because Im not, I live here because I choose to, I earn Ok money certanly enough to buy a few toys from, and support my family, etc. So if you wanna live here do it, any one can. Its just down to actually grabbing the bull by the horns and doing it. Those of you that are civil cervants, would earn the same here as you would inland would you?? Or am I wrong? A friend of mine has just moved here from the midlands, and as well as living closer to the beach has had a pay rise from 25k up to 31k???? Its gotta be good.

if you've never tried it, then you would'nt know..
we're not talking a five minute bimble around the climachX on a sunday afternoon.
if thats wot you're into, thats fine, it does'nt do it for me.

it's no different from someone riding a motorbike on the road for fun or someone driving a poluting van because it suits them.

or teaching people to drive powerboats on a lake???? or even driving a powerboat at all for that matter. i don't think you're as bothered about the environment at all..you just like to whinge....

not a good time to get caught wandering around the beach with a wheel barrow...especially after dark.

Spot on Shem... It has nothing to do with luck, just choices. I chose to live here rather take a job that used my qualifications. The job would have paid 10 times what I'm earning but I decided the beach was more important than the money....

And it isn't just financial either. In order to live here as well as having no money I have to put up with not having a toilet or any proper drains (and therefore no real running water), the slowest broadband known to man, temperamental electricity supply and of course loads of tourists invading us every summer....Not to mention the fact that cas and everything else rust away in a few years and everything is always caked in salt and sand. All part of my choice to live here though and all worth living with so that I can go to the beach every day.

It has to beat living inland and wishing I was at the beach.

Al.
