Speed Session on Thursday

Wind is looking good for a speed session in the estuary on Thursday... Current forecast shows 30 knots Easterly, so by the time we take into account the estuary effect it should be a solid 40knots... Anyone feel like braving the cold and having a session?

It looks as though the air temp will be hovering around freezing point.

Al.

High Tide is around 4.45pm... But only 3.6m and Low tide is around 10.45am at 1.9m.... Should just about be sailable throughout, although I haven't seen the position of the sandbanks for a while.

Could be a record breaking day!!!... But VERY cold too.

If all goes well on Wednesday at work, I may be able to take the morning off on Thursday. I cant let you break the record alone now can I? If it is that strong the sea front may also be an option.

Cool... I should be about and the seafront sounds like an idea...

Wonder if I can buy some dedicated speed kit by then!!

Uh oh.... Forecast suddenly dropped from 35 knots to 25 knots for Thursday.... Hopefully still OK though. And there could be some wind tomorrow now as well.

-10C that's a bit severe.

I'll watch on the dovey web cam. I saw it was getting a bit choppy today.

Take care, there's always the weekend when it warms up a bit!

I think it'll be about -10¬?C with the wind chill factor anyway... The air temp is supposed to be 0¬?C and the wind could well be touching 40 knots!

Brrrrrr.

Well.... As no one else is coming out I think I'm gonna be a big girl and give it a miss today as well...

I've just been over to the beach and it is below freezing out there (The water I put outside before walking across was frozen by the time I got back) with a 35 knot wind... I got ice-cream headache just walking back up the beach without even getting wet.
