Lleyn Peninsula

Hi, just looking forward to opening up my caravan at Black Rock Sands this weekend. I generally sail here cos it's two minutes drive from the van but just wondered if anyone could recommend any good windsurfing beaches within about 30 mins drive (or so). Black rock can be a bit rough in the prevailing SW.

Greg... Have you checked the beach guide??

Your best bets for flatter water in a SW would be Abersoch on the SW Lleyn, or Foryd Bay at high water... Abersoch is fairly enclosed and almost always relatively flat, there will also be other people out there I shold imagine. Foryd Bay is a little inlet off the southern side of the Menai Straits not far from Dinas Dinlle. It can be pretty choppy if theres wind, its only chop though and no swell so you should be OK.

Hope that helps and congratulations on your first post!!

Al.

Main Beach, Abersoch is where you will want to be.
