Test the Best !

Hello

Im Brian, ive been reveiwing surfers about various boards & their individual experiences riding them. Also their lifespan, costs & material make-up rating.

I am writing an article concerning these topics so ive decided to eventually post them around various surf-sites in the UK-USA & AUS.

Keep posted if you will to see the results which will be submitted sometime this year or in the near coming months.

Thanx Regards

BB

PS: I am not an experienced surfer myself.

Welcome... What sort of questions have you been asking... Surely most surfers still use custom boards and there are literally 100's of shapers out there churning out one offs, so any real comparison betweens boards is almost impossible.. Obviously certain shapers will be better than others, consistency will be better with some brand names and build quality will of course vary. But most experienced surfers tend to stick with a shaper they know and trust and get them to build them a board ideally suited to their size, weight, ability, style and the conditions they surf in. What works for a pro surfer in hawaii won't work for me in knee high mushy surf here!!.. Obviously some shapers are better at coming up with the ideal board for you than others, so comparisons could be made there.

Things are different in other boardsports like windusrfing where most boards that people use are production boards which are highly consistent from one board to the next. Comparisons and reviews here are possible because if board X gets a good review and would seem to suit you, you can go out and buy it. Not so with surfing, just because a custom board gets a good review somewhere doesn't mean that you will be able to go out and buy a board exactly the same.

Just interested in the way you've been reviewing things??

Al.
