Spam Scam Beware
Beware of spam being generated from leaving your email address in the for sale section
I know this had been discussed before and I know that Al does his absolute best to protect the site, but this is the latest.
I received an email yesterday from 'Flywithshem' the email read 'Thanks for use of our software' with an attachment. Being slightly
suspicious of the use of English (even I know Shems is better than that) I did not open the attachment. I sent a U2U to Shem asking if
he had emailed me, the answer was no
So the scammers are now using names from this site to send emails to friends on the site, SO BEWARE
Luckily I did not open the attachment, so I do not know what it was butI'm sure it couldn't have been bad news for my PC.
My advice to all is do not put your email address on any of the for sale, wanted or threads. Only use U2U. I don't want to lose the use
of the for sale section as that is were I have sold my board and I want to help Al where I can to protect this site from vermin.
What do you say Al, do you have any advice. Also I aware that there a places that you can send spam so they can be blocked, do you know
of such a site?
Keep your PC safe use U2U for personal contacts..

It's a new one on me, but if you want to send me the e-mail complete with the full headers I could look into it.

I still get random emails askin about my mountain bike I sold 14 months ago. I advertised the bike on this site as well as one other
website and still get emails from random foreigners askin if I can ship it out to them and they'd send me a cheque so naturally I make
up some random address and ask them to post the cheque.
