Caravan point

Interested to see Chris mention surfing Llanrhystud in his diary. At one time was regarded as a secret spot by Pembs/Swansea surfers (just to deter all the other Pembs/Swansea masses). I know this is no longer the case so , in view of the large swell and SE winds forecast this weekend , would it be worth a trip?

If the swell arrives it could be.... Nothing up here so far.

LLanrhystud may have been a secret spot for the S. Wales crew, but for us up here its alwasy been pretty well known... But then there aren't huge numbers of surfers in Cardigan Bay.... There are still a few little secrets though!!

It certainly was worth it! I had it all to myself from first light on Saturday till about 10am when a few Gower lads turned up. Heres some pics of the perfect surf at about 12pm when i got out:

yep a great spot.
when i first surfed it a few of the "locals" were a bit unfriendly as i was getting changed. once i paddled out back i was asked " so where have you come from?" i replied " just from the top of the hill behind llanrhystud" as i had just moved to the area, i thought he maybe another llanrhystud local. so when i asked him where he was from he sheepishly replied " south wales". it would seem i was the only "local".

surfers are a pain when it comes to their break. that why i now mainly kitesurf. only happy freindly kiters on the water. killer wave though.
