trip to france
what a fantastic trip; came back thursday, sob, sob!
i think can speak for all who went over to try out the french beaches and waves that we had a great time. i will put some pics on as
and when i get the time.
beaches were : plage de deviere at st jean de monts, west of nantes.
tranch sur mere, just north of la rochelle.
bisscarrose plage , by arcachon.vert boise on the il d' oleron. and everyones favourit on the quiberon penninsular, pen thrieven on the
west side and carnach bay on the east. oh and omaha beach ,Col reckons that was the buis, so will have to try it next year.
Nick is still out till tuesday ,exploring new beaches so will no doubt get some feed back on his return.
best thing was being out in just board shorts and sea specs most days; fantstic sun and only about 3 days of dull weather in the whole
of august! bring on next year!!!

Nice one Neil.... I could do with a holiday, especially a month long holiday!!! Its been ages since I've been to France but have
visited many of those beahces in the past... Lon before kitesurfing was invented. I've surfed at a few of them and spent a week by
Biscarrose one year. I was competing in the Arachon triathlon but managed to squeeze in a few epic surf sessions at both Biscarosse and
Mimizan plage in between the taining sessions. Did you get to check out Hossegor or Lacanau, I surfed them while I was there too,
although the conditions weren't quite up to their world class levels while I was there...
Can you fit me into your suitcase next year!!!

Thats a better size Neil, now if you change the filename suffix to .jpg rather than .JPG they should show up within the thread!
By the way, you might be interested to hear that when I get some time I shall be working on building a new photo gallery section for
this site.. It will have various categories into which members will be able to upload photos, such as, kitesurfing, kite-buggying,
windsurfing, surfing, body-boarding, beaches and landscapes, travel and of course bikinis girls! As well as the categories each member
will have their own photo album as well, and best of all I'll write the code so that it will automatically resize and optimise your
images for you, so you won't have to bother about that yourself.... I'll get around to it one day, if people REALLY want it then I
might get around to it a little quicker!

Picture thing on the site sounds a wonderful idea Al
I've been to plage de deviere at st jean de monts,
tranch sur mere (both nice places, from what i remember la rochelle was good too) and omaha beach (although you dont get waves up on
the north coast of france at omaha beach - its more based on the d-day landings, very emotional memorials and burial grounds, great
place to visit)...and i've also been to mimizan and lacanau ocean (which you mentioned Al). Really good waves at both. Went to lacanau
this summer and it was amazing, some days had a lot of shorebreak and undercurrent, and some days were just HUGE...i didnt go out too
far cus of my ability in bodyboarding. Managed to see the lacanau oakley pro and pro junior surf competition while i was there, some
really talented guys, well u'd expect that with a first prize of around £75,000, i've got loads of pics i can put up of it. Hoping
to go to bisscarrose next year. So you can tell i go to france a lot

hi Chris , yep france has a something going for it and not just the 1 E litre bottle of wine. great beaches ala borth but with the 30+C
that kind of helps things along.
will be up in borth this weekend , wind permitting ,might not have norman though if he gets sold!
did miss the massif and the atmosphere of borth, some great kitesurfers over there , very friendly never felt out of place.
