Mate wants windsurfing lessons - help ta

A mate wants to take some windsurfing lessons ( I tried to persuade him to go kitesurfing but he won't have any of it - some people eh!) anyway, does anyone know where he can get lessons around the midlands or at the welsh coast.
Thought Al or Dunk might have some ideas.
cheers

Hi Tim. I've been doing some teaching for a school in Exmouth that does windsurfing lessons. I know it's not the midlands but from what I've seen it's an ideal flat water location. Like Poole but without the buildings...

If he/she want to share petrol down there, I'm there most weekends at the moment...

Best place in Wales is probably Dale in Pembrokeshire.... persuade him to go kitesurfing though, it is much easier to learn and much less frustrating. He'll be ripping it up in no time whereas with windsurfing he'll still be pfaffing around trying to get planing properly... There are also more opportunities for lessons around here.

Al.

I'd suggest Croft Farm in Tewkesbury if they are absolute beginners. Nice small lake and good facilities for lessons.

Also Chase Water sailing club do lessons for members and non members I think. These might only be scheduled for once or twice a year though.

Otherwise Carsington Water in Derbyshire has a shop and school as does Rutland Water, all good places to start.

All of the above have web sites if you search.
