well thought id try aber as the forecast was se, what a good choice park in the main carpark launch infront.. went out on the 17 at first but as shem said when you get out past the boats towards ynyslas it went ballistic and kept building, played around for a bit as the girls went in for smaller kites..

had a break then out with the 13m as it was blowing 20knts plus, some huge jumps and found some great flat water pools further up the estuary towards mcynllleth..out for about 5hours in total..completely knackered but worth it

You had me confused for a while there Col.. I thought what main car park in Aber??? Boats in Aber? Estuary??? then it dawned on me, you mean Aberdovey....

Aber = Aberystwyth not Aberdovey in these parts!!

I was exactly the same. I was trynna visualise where the main car park was in aberystwyth on seafront and kite surfing from aberystwyth on a gusty off shore wind.

Has anyone actually tried kitesurfing from Aber yet? Would it be possible? I'd be put of with all the rocks and lack of launch and landing points.

Used to be the glen for me when I was in my first year. Was one of the top spots to go to on a night out. Went real rubbish when the new owners took over in 2003 and knocked all the prices up.
