Ban on NW beaches

If just heard that following the death of someone who was run over by a land-yatch, land-based forces-of-nature sports have ben banned along the beaches of the NW... Does anyone know any more details?? Is it a blanket ban or is it just tighter regulations??.. Which beaches are affected?
