109 mph
Just heard on the news that the max wind speed recorded in last nights storm was 109mph on Barra (Outer Hebrides), but then the
anenometer broke so they don't know if it got any windier than that ot not!!!

A similar thing happened at Aberdyfi, over the last couple of days.
The Lifeboat, max wind reading reached its highest figure which is 110!!!! So it may have been more. Crazy shit, glad I wasnt out on
the 17!!

It must have been broken before it read 110 (unless that is km/h). The last I heard was that the 109mph was the maximum gust according
to the met office for the whole UK and it was certainly windier in Scotland than it was here.
Aberporth weather Bouy had a max gust of 42 knots at around midnight last night and Valley Weather station in N. Wales a max gust of 54
knots... (sustained windspeeds were 30 knots for Aberporth and 38 knots for N. Wales).... Shame it was dark or I might have been able
to use my rarey used 3.4m sail!!!
