what is the buggying like in that part of wales? i have been to black rock sands before, but i have a full race on bigfoots and wondered if anyine had the same problem and knew of anywhere i could store it so could take my buggy with me

Borth will be the place to go buggying.... 4 miles of uninterrupted hard packed sand!

Could try and speak nicely to the Windsurf/Sailing club and see if they would let you store your buggy in the Boat House next to the harbour? Used to keep my windsurf kit in there and was secure and had easy access.

There is no buggying in Aberystwyth so you'l have to drive 5 miles north to Borth where there is excellent buggying.
The Kite surfing club was setup in 2002 and only lasted the 1 year, theres still meant to be a bit of kit around in the boat house but thats disappeared.
You need to go and speak to the sailing club or canoe club at threshers fayre and ask about storing your buggy and acquiring a key for the boat house. You will have to pay a £20 deposit for the key and you get that back when you hand your key back in at the end of the year. Your buggy should be pretty safe if you padlock it up to something in the boat house as only 15 people or so are allowed keys for the boat house and you've got to be a member of a water sports club. Better still you could restart the kite surfing club yourself as there was massive interest when it was first setup so you will have a good chance of gettin some kit for the uni with a grant which you could use.

Good stuff.... Much better than that human geography rubbish!!

I don't know how much you know about Aber and the Uni, but most people love it... those that don't love it here, hate it and usually leave within a few months... Just be warned that you might not want to leave (ever!). Many people who now live here were once students at the uni who couldn't bear to leave. That includes me, I came here in '94 to do a Geology degree, 3 years later I found a way to stay here by remaining a student and doing a PhD, and then stayed here and built a house on the beach!!

You'll love it.

See you on the beach sometime.

Which Halls are you staying in? cos you'll find somewhere to put your buggy in most of the halls.

AFAIK each of the Tefloyne buildings has a pretty large store room on the ground floor... I was in Rosser, but the buildings are similar and I used to keep my windsurfing kit in the storeroom in Rosser.

I stayed in PJM in the first year so kept all my kit in the student house. You could always store your buggy in the kitchen. Loadsa people usually store there bulky items like mountain bikes, surfboards etc. in the kitchens as theres so much room. The kitchens are shared amongst 8 people so loadsa room. You could just tie it up to the kitchen wall and the security is fairly decent as you need a swipe card to get into them buildings

Yep, there will be some people about. Not sure about buggiers, but there will be kitesurfers there. Do you know where we usually are on the beach? basically from the train station you want to head North to Ynyslas. Then at the Ynyslas Triangle where the road bears ff right and continues straight on towards the estuary, there is an entrance to a car park (right next to a bus stop). We usually park at the far northern end of theat car park in amongst the dunes so that we can fly on the beach there away from the groynes (and in the summer away from most of the tourists)... It's pobably about 1 1/2 miles from the station, so you might be better catching the bus to Ynyslas and getting off at the entrance to the car park.... Or getting someone to give you a lift.

I'll see you at the weekend.
