Redbull Girls & Starboard and Tushingham Demo Day Sun 29th Aug - Rickmansworth (M25 junction 17)

The Aquadrome at Rickmansworth (M25 junction 17) is holding a Starboard and Tushingham demo day this Sunday 29th.

The day is being hosted by Out of Town Action Sports (Tel 01923 771120), Bury Lake Young Mariners (B.L.Y.M.), Rickmansworth Windsurfing Club (R.W.C.), and the NOMAD Kayak Club and has a number of aims including:
) Increasing public awareness of the range of watersports activities available in Rickmansworth and the surrounding area.
) Encourage newcomers in to watersports
) Allow manufactures to show off all this season‚Äôs new gear.
) Get experts and novices alike on the water trying out the new kit, and receiving expert advice from manufacturers and instructors throughout the day.
) Have fun, get wet, leave smiling and enthusiastic about watersports.

Programme:

11:00 The action kicks off with all the instructors giving demos and taster sessions for windsurfing, kayaking and sailing (equipment and tuition will be free of charge!!). These sessions will be running every hour until 16:00. In addition all the new demo kit will be out on show for anyone to rock up and have a go!

11:00 The sound system also gets fired up with local DJ‚Äôs spinning some vinyl.

12:30 There will be a talk by LDC in conjunction with instructors at B.L.Y.M. about their new boats and how best to keep them upright.

14:00 to 16:00 RS/BLYM sailing Grand Prix organised by B.L.Y.M.

12:30 to 15:00 The Snack Bar will be providing a flash BBQ as well as their usual range of hot and cold snacks available all day.

14:00 Starboard and Tushingham and Out of Town Action Sports will be talking to all the windsurfers about their new range of boards and sails, how best to rig and tune them, as well as what to do if you put your head through one!

15:00 Windsurfing King of the Lake Freestyle Competition with Out of Town Action Sports and R.W.C.

15:00 Liquid logic and Out of Town action Sports take everyone through cutting edge aspects of their sport including subjects like why kayaks look more like toboggans these days.

15:30 Rodeo King Kayak Freestyle brought to you by Nomad and Out of Town Action Sports!!

16:30 Prise giving and wrap.
