Walk of Shame

Just thought I should warn everyone that AndyW is already working hard on retaining his 'Forces-of-Nature Walk of Shame Award'. On an attempt to impress the judges yesterday, he not only did one of the longest walks of shame after destroying his 6.4m sail and ending up down the other end of the beach, but he then rigged his 5.4m sail and went out there and ended up doing yet another equally long walk of shame without any kit breakage as an excuse!!!

On top of that he brought me a couple of signed posters from the Boat Show... One signed by the might Robby and another by Mark Shinn... Cool....
I just hope that wasn't an attempt to influence the judguing for the Walk of Shame Award as well!

Al.

Cheers Al,

I kinda guessed I'd get a mention for that.

I had a bit of a swim too but nothing to compare to when you ditched your rig, and I did get back to my kit eventually.

I'd just like to add that I will not be giving up my award easily.

I'm stubborn and determined so even though my kit might get trashed, I might get rinsed, I'll keep going back out there until I can sail in those head high waves (either that or get washed all the way into the estuary whereupon I'll stay there and sail in flat water) :-)

Me try to influence the judges, please!

I might start challenging for the most kit breakage but I know it won't be easy to get into the top three for that category...

Andy

Don't know if you'll manage the kit breakage award as at my previous stay here at aber i managed to break a harness leash point causing me to lose the board and snapped the leash twice also losing the board. All loses of board were followed either by a great big swim or a run up and down the beach trying to find the board in the surf, luckly did manage to regain it back every time. Also snaped a part of the chicken loop and lost my car keys.

I have a feeling that I may be a strong contestant for that award.

Yes I think you're due for an award for some category for that one Miguel :-)

Very unlucky.
