hello
Hi, I'm Mark,
I've sailed Borth a few times (kite and windsurf). I used to go to Fairbourne a lot. I also broke my knee at Towyn a few years ago ( an
epic day in January, which turned into the longest swim of my life.)
How's the sailing been ? l kited there a few times mid week last summer. The last time I winsurfed there was on a 63 ltr RRD with a
4.2.
Hoping to come over for the last weekend in March. Do many people get out mid week ? I get loads of time off , but hate sailing on my
own.
Catch up with you guys on the beach,
Mark

Hi Dunk / Mark....
I get out midweek, as do a few others around here (both windsurfing and kitesurfing).... So, just let us know when you'll be heading
this way and we'll look out for you. Come and join us for the Borth BST Beach Bash (see the thread in the Travel Forum) as well.

Dunk... Just thought I'd let you know that yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) there wa me and AndyW out windsurfing, Miguel kite-surfing,
Rob having a brief go at kite-mountainboarding and Shem thinking about going out and never actually making it...plus a few people
surfing, so thats not bad for midweek on a cold early March day.

Nice to hear you guys are having all the fun !
I'm at work this week , but no wind to sail here inland.
I'm off next week, but my vans away being pimped up.
The long range shows wind for the back end of next week so if I get my wheels back I'll be over

Would this be 'Bosun' Dunk by any chance ? You can probably guess from my moniker who I am ! You're right about no wind - haven't
sailed for weeks, but getting in loads of biking. Looks like more time on the bike this weekend....

Mark, we have a couple for family trips to Aberdovey every year. Usually stay in the town, and either sail in the estuary or at
Fairbourne. Josh keeps his rib there, which we use for skiing/boarding/etc, and the kids use dinghies from the sailing club.
Getting round to Borth from there is a pain in the car, but I should do it.
Had a trip over there planned for next weekend to bike/sail which isn't going to happen, so perhaps I can transfer my credit to another
weekend !?

Yeah, done it many times. Then it's a long walk with kit over to the sea side ! Easier to sail down the estuary and out, but the wind
rarely seems to be right to do this - needs to be NW-ish ?
I've had some fantastic sessions over on the 'far side' though - just like Harty videos when he's planing and gybing flat out on flat
water. Best in SW-ish on about half tide ? Also had good times there on a full tide and a big SW blow - the range of conditions as you
go across is wacky.
