Shame I have to work all day tomorrow to make up for the time taken off playing in the snow...
Oh well, its about time I missed out I guess.

I'm overdue for an outing to combat my severe withdrawal symptoms...
I can have a day off on Wednesday and after moving house and building lots of furniture I also have the necessary brownie points.
So what are the conditions likely to be on Wednesday then Al?

At the mo they are forecasting S-SW Force 5 (possibly 6) for Weds morning, easing a little in the afternoon, then easing Force 3
overnight.
Lets hope I get rained off work in the morning!!

What was the surf like though Rob.... By all accounts it kicked in with a solid 4 foot at the Trap by about 5.30pm.
I'll hopefully be at the beach tomorrow by about 1.30pm, but by 3.30pm at the latest.
If theres surf I shall also go for an early morning surf sessions at around 6am.

well i have no idea what a good surf looks like i'm afraid - but i did stop by at the golf course car park on the way back cos the
flags on the course seemed to be flapping quite a bit (that proved an illusion!!) but had a look at the beach anyway... there was in
fact one person out surfing as it happens, and the waves did looks pretty big - the tide was right in too.
6am?!? now that IS commitment for ya!! i only see one 6 oclock of the day and it sure aint the early one! although i did quite well to
be on time sunday morning! that made a change!
do you know whether you'll be on the beach or estuary yet or are you waiting to see what the wind's doin?
i noticed they filled in those ridiculously deep pot-holes on the golf course car park - about time! my car nearly runs aground
everytime i try driving down there!! i think they forget not everybody drives a land rover or a tractor round here!

If the waves look big then thats usually a start in the right direction.
As far as commitment goes.... well, I like to make up in commitment and dedication what I lack in skill and ability, so 6am is just the
start of it... Come the summer 4am starts may be neccesary!!
We'll probably be out on the seafront as the winds are forecast to be Southerly (and are at the moment). Although, the surf is quite
big so AndyW may prefer a session in the estuary?
At the moment there isn't a huge amount of wind, but the Holyhead to Dublin ferry has been cancelled due to bad weather, so its on its
way.
Right now theres only a 13 knot Southerly wind blowing at Ynyslas, but the weather station at Valley is reading 26 knots, and the one
at Aberporth 21 knots. Theres also 3-4 foot messy lumpy surf here.

Hey Zel,
I don't live near the beach, I drove for 2.5 hours to get there. And now I've killed my 6.4m sail so I need to buy another. At least it
was insured :-)
I know what you mean though, these guys just pop out after work for a quick surf thne straight back in doors to get warm.
I found that when I was at uni I had time to sail but I couldn't afford the kit, even the cheaper 2nd hand stuff. Now I'm workin' I
don't have the time to sail but I do have some half desent kit, you just can't win.
I try to get well picked days off at short notice when the forecast looks good, seems to be working out ok.
Cheers,
Andy
