KITEWING

Anyone who is bored on nightshift see this on sky sports. It is like a cross between a windsurf sail and a hanglider which you hang onto or hold like a sail. These guys were using them with ice skates, snow boards, skis, roller blades mountain boards and getting some serious air.

Is that the one where the windsurf sail sort of swivels halfway up the mast taking the sail from the vertical plane to the horizontal plane??

I remember seing those years and years ago (probably getting on for 20 years now) in windsurf magazines. I don't know why it never caught on properly??

The sail is very similar but there was no mast just a frame to hold onto or hang underneath depending on whether you wanted speed or get some air

Uh oh.... So who's gonna be the first to get one of those???

For some reason although the photos look kinda cool it just doesn't quite look right. Don't know what it is about it, but it looks a little odd to me. I think it just looks a little cramped and unweildy.

Although this does look quite cool....
