Legends of the Extreme Showdown
NWho would you vote for ?
November 2nd sees the finale of Extreme Sports Channel’s ground breaking quest to discover who is the Legend of the Extreme. The
blistering campaign culminates with a specially commissioned 90 minute ‘Showdown’ counting down from 20th to 1st place to
reveal who will be crowned with this most prestigious of accolades.
It all started a year ago – 20 industry experts were drawn together and given the unenviable task of drawing up the shortlist of
the top action sports athletes of all time. Eventually the gathering came up the definitive list of the outstanding riders who have
shaped the genre of extreme sports as we know it.
During September Extreme dedicated one day to each of the 20 and the enormity of the response has more than matched the awesome
programming that has dominated your screens. Record audiences have deliberated over which of these superstars will be their number one,
decisions have certainly been made and votes have reached epic proportions and continue to pour in.
‘The Showdown’ will make action sports history when for the first time the best of the best from across the extreme sports
spectrum are pitted against one another. Adding spice to the thrilling finale an esteemed collection of industry pundits, including one
of the guru’s of the windsurfing fraternity - Boards editor Bill Dawes - give their no holds barred reactions as the results are
revealed.
Will it be Hawk or Hoffman, Haakonsen or Hamilton, McConkey or Mullen – its up to you - and don’t forget the godfather of
extreme, Evel Knievel. Only the viewers can decide, there’s still time.
