Good to hear you are surviving. Did the car park lake get topped up?
Love the typos on your blog - the 'devious record wind gust' and the 'weather stain'. I think some gremlins must have blown in to your
computer

I'm not sure the weather station is showing things quite right at the moment - it seems to have the wrong direction for the wind unless
there is a strange local Ynyslas effect. Or maybe it is the devious wind

Ooops, I'll fix the typos now - That's what comes from trying to post from a phone whilst the power was down.
I've just checked the wind direction on the weather station though at it isn't being at all devious as far as I can tell, it all seems
accurate to me.

I'm still not convinced about the wind direction on the weather station. It is currently northerly in Ynyslas but southerly in most of
Wales. Is the wind bouncing off Aberdovey?

I don't know where you've seen it saying Northerly... It's been reading WSW all day long... which is spot on.

The current wind and some of the recent averages showed up as N or NNW around 8 this morning which seemed very strange. It seems to
have settled down now.

OK, I didn't see that and I wasn't here at that time of day either, but I guess it must have been right if that's what it was
saying.

Looks as though you could have been right after all Alistair.... The wind direction vane on the anemometer seemed to now have jammed in
the WSW direction.
Looks as though I'm going to have to go up the pole to take a look.
Mind you, I think after nearly 10 years on top of a telegraph pole in Ynyslas I might have seized up somewhat too!

I'm relieved to know I wasn't hallucinating but it's a shame you've to get up the pole to fix it.

It'll be fun really... I'm just waiting until I've got time whilst there is someone else at home during daylight hours... From a health
and safety point of view I thought it would make sense to have someone else there just in case I fall off!
