I take it you mean Groynes... as groins are something completely different..
They don't get in my way. They sometimes loom large in front of me whilst surfing, but I usually surf either at the Lifeboat Station in
the corner which is well away from the groynes, or up at the Golf Course Car Park where the waves break out beyond the groynes on all
except the highest of tides....
Besides, there probably wouldn't be much of a beach there without them!!

Groyne
noun
A protective structure of stone or concrete; extends from shore into the water to prevent a beach from washing away.
Groin
noun
(1)Anatomy. The crease or hollow at the junction of the inner part of each thigh with the trunk, together with the adjacent region and
often including the external genitals.
(2)Architecture. The curved edge at the junction of two intersecting vaults.
Are we clear about that one now!!!

Groynes don't help the surf they but they keep the beach in place by stopping the sand/ pebbles being pushed along the beach

Groins also have little effect on the surf conditions, but if used correctly, can make the water a little warmer!!
