Kitesurf Races Aberdyfi 23/24 June
Hi All,
As part of the Boardwise weekend in Aberdyfi next weekend, we are having some kitesurf slalom races in the Dovey estuary. If conditions
are suitable, we will be using the slalom head to head format that we trialled last year at a very successful event. Any board can be
used and twin-tips work just as well as race boards in this format.
It is being organised by Dovey Yacht Club (www.doveyyachtclub.org.uk) and is free to members, £10 to non-members with racing on both
Saturday and Sunday. There is also a cracking party in the evening in the DYC with live music. The windsurfing event is already
massive, so lets big it up for the kiters too. Keep an eye on the DYC website for details so come along and bring yer mates.
Cheers, Rupes

hi Rupert sounds like fun with the exception that----- us in the birmingham navy; who will have already shelled out at least £66 in
fuel to get there in the first place might not be inclined to shell out a further £10 to sail. nice idea to include the kites though
and good luck.
looking forward to some interesting comments from the likes of Col, Spooks, Steve etc perhaps they might include the words; moths,
wallets etc.
A KITE IS FOR LIFE!! THAT IS IF ITS A YARGA.

Ha! Yes, Neil take your point about the £10. We have to charge it I am afraid as the race is run by the yacht club and the price has
to include course setting, use of the club facilities, RIB support and of course - PARTY! So all in all not a bad deal for a tenner for
two days racing and a piss-up.
Also Cabrinha and a couple of other manufacturers are bringing kites over to test as part of the Boardwise weekend. It has always been
a big event for the windsurfers with loads of kit to test and a round of the British race circuit. As kiters we are joining in on a
ready made cracking event, which I have been to many times before as a windsurfer. The manufacturers are keen and many of them are the
same guys as the windsurf kit, so it is easy for them.
Food for thought, but if we don't see you over here, have a good weekend and I hope the wind
blows.More about that here
