Fanatic Hot Viper Fin

Hi Can anyone save my sanity!! I have bought a fanatic hot viper and other bits of kit but I can't seem to figure out how the fin goes on. It jams in pretty tight but there is a hole in one end of the fin where it slots into the board but no corresponding hole on the board! There are what looks like to 2 black 'spacers' at either end one of which comes out the other doesn't but will move up and down the slot. Maybe i'm being thick but I can't see how a screw would help the fin. I've searched everywhere for info on fitting the fin but to no avail.

Hope someone can help

I'm not sure of the exacting model but it sounds like a standard US fin box found on most wave boards. If so, you simply need a 4mm square nut and bolt to attach the fin.

Take a look at the M4 US fin bolt here.

Hope that's what you need?
Al.

Hi I did think it look similar to a the shape of fin that fits a us fin box, but what I can't figure out is how the screw helps it to stay in as there is no hole to screw in to. The bottom of the slot on the box appears just to be flat.

Thanks for getting back to me though, I think I may have a couple of screws I took of another really old board, I might see if they fit.

Eureka! I think I might have sorted it, I know this may seem obvious but i've realised that a plate/nut goes in the slot and slides along to position under the hole in the fin for the screw. Just ordered one from Custard surf shop, hopefully will be on the sea by the weekend! Thanks, really useful having someone to help.

No problem, and you're right, the nut slides into the slot.

Happy sailing!
Al.
