Mon - Tues - Weds - Could be epic

It's looking good for Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday next week at the moment.

Full on SE's on Monday, possibly with a little bit of swell for some mad down the line cross-offshore wave-riding on the seafront.

Easterly on Tuesday and 35 knots - Dead offshore for some ultra-long speed runs along the seafront at low tide.

NE on Wednesday for a speed session in the estuary speed channels - Not sure if I can make this though as I'm supposed to be doing a (nude) photo shoot for a calendar - All in the name of charity of course!

Lets hope the forecast holds.
Al.

Forecast not currently looking so good at the moment but I'm visiting friends in Aberystwyth from Saturday and wondering when and where the best place to windsurf would be? Is it best to go round to Aberdovey in a SE? Will there be anyone out on Monday/Tuesday?

Hi Alistair,
Sunday afternoon and Monday still look prety good at the moment.

Aberdovey will probably be your best bet as there are likely to be more people out there and a SE can be good there. If there's enough wind I'm likely to be out either on the seafront here in Ynyslas if it goes a little more Easterly (or preferably NE) then from the Ynyslas side of the estuary. It will have to be at least 25 knots though I'd imagine.

Al.

Thanks. Am I right in thinking it is best between mid and high tide so late afternoon on Sunday/Monday? Is it sailable at low tide on the estuary?

You should be OK at any state of the tide this weekend - We're just coming off neaps so there isn't a huge difference in the tide between low and high - In fact, if you fancy some speed sailing then towards low tide is the best as there is lots of flat water in the channels - That's what I'm hoping for and 35 knots NE! - I wish!

Here we go then - Looks as though the best winds are now going to be here Sunday afternoon and Monday morning - They are supposed to be SE and picking up to 25 knots this afternoon, possibly 30 knots tomorrow morning but it does look as though it will be very gusty, which will be made even worse if it's SE as forecast.

SE isn't the best of directions, although at 30 knots that should be plenty for a session on the seafront, hopefully with a little bit of swell thrown in for good measure.

Although at the moment it is ENE rather than SE so if it stays like that then it could be perfect for a speed session on the estuary. It's current;y 16-21 knots on the weather station, probably a bit more in the estuary so on target, but I'm still now completely convinced that it will be good enough.

There's plenty in the estuary Shem - I've just got back from a windsurf.

I lost my wedding ring out by the point though so if anyone finds a gold wedding ring with a wave pattern on it could they return it to me please.

I did mark the spot with my GPS so I shall take a walk around there at low tide and see if I can spot it - Very unlikely I know but it's worth a try - Has anyone got a metal detector?
