New windsurfer wishing to hit the water!
Hi all,
I am currently living in Lancs and am hoping to explore the Lancs and Welsh coast line for Intermediate and Advanced windsurfing
locations to suit my fiance and I.
We have a motorhome and are keen to camp most weekends.
Any advice on locations is most welcome.
I look foward to sailing with some of you in the near future.
Colin

Hi Colin...
That sounds like a plan and should be good fun.
Check out the Beachguide for some suggestions, and of
course if you find any new places that aren't in the guide then feel free to add them... There must be more places in the NW that are
good.
let us know if you'll be in this neck of the woods too (Borth, Ynyslas, Aberdovey etc.), and we might get a chance to sail with you.
Al.

Hi Al
we will be certain to let you know when we are heading your way.
I will also be exploring new locations and would be only too pleased to post the details in the Beach Guide.
Hangloose

I'm always up for someone to sail with as most sessions are on my own :-(
I sail around at either Bala, Prestatyn, Flint, Colwyn Bay and sometimes over to Anglesey.

Try Cockerham Sands, it's in the beach guide and there's guaranteed to be a group of sailors out pending on the tide and a decent wind.
Averages usually around 10 or so on a decent day.
Parkings 20p thats put in an honesty box and you get a nice grass area to rig on as well as a good friendly group of sailors.
The spot is sailable 1.5 - 2 hours either side of high tide. There's flat water or if you want rolling waves - head out past the
lighthouse.
Morecambe batterys another good spot apparently although I've never tried there myself. A guy called Tony abandons his burger van and
goes out for a sail here whenever conditions are good.
Fleetwoods another place you could try and there's always a couple of sailors out when conditions are good. Also in the beach guide
although the place is frequented more so by Kitesurfers.
If you want to venture further afield. Had North to the Southern Lake district and there's quite a few decent spots around Barrow,
Walney Island, Roa island etc.
All these spots are located North of Preston in Morecambe Bay.
