Did you guys get out yesterday? I had a good day in the estuary on Saturday and I was joined by one kitesurfer but it was a little too cold for him so he didn't stay out too long.

I had a day on the bike yesterday instead.

Al.

Andy b and myself were out yesterday in the estuary; went out on the 13mtr and got overpowered as the wind picked up. bit chilly outside but ok once on the water

Looking nice out there today... Wind around 30-35 knots in the estuary, my wetsuit is in the tumble drier (can't be putting a wet wetsuit on at this time of year), but I've just checked the temperature and with the wind chill taken into account it is around -15¬?C.

Hmmm... Maybe a day in front of the fire is called for!

Yep... Just for once I have decided it is too cold... Although, I am still tempted, simply because I've never been windsurfing on 'slush' before!

I've just been down to the estuary and the water is freezing. Despite the strong winds and therefore choppy conditions, there is actually a few feet of ice around the edge of the water followed by some slush.. Could be fun!

I had a look at the estuary today, plenty of wind about but it was totally brass monkeys weather - dunk had a quick look but we both decided on the staying in the vans option. Me thinks will pray for some warm SWerlies.

Bingham, west kirby marine lake is ideal for beginners, always flat and chest deep. works with any west in the wind.

As far as renting kit, Plas Menai by Cearnarfon will rent kit, i think. Once you have the windsurf bug you will want to buy you own.

Bala lake has a watersports centre that's open in the summer, they run courses but now sure about renting kit.

Plas Menai dose not hire windsurfing equipment, try Funsports at Rhosneigr.
