Ooooh... What does it say??
I'll have to ask Dave nicely to see if I can open his copy of Windsurf that is currently sat on his kitchen table still in its plastic
wrapper.

Its OK... Dave said I could open it... I should have known what it said as its exactly the same as the e-mail I sent them, they didn't
tell me they would print it...and not a single piece of editing either!!
Lets hope it attracts a few new members...be nice to them!!

There isn't a reef advert, but there is usually a swimsuit corner near the back.

So what DOES it say??? I get Boards not Windsurf.. I take it its some publicity for this site.... lets hope it doesn't get taken over
too much and lose its friendly nature.

It says:
quote:
Hi Mark,
I was just wondering if you could make a mention of my website somewhere in Windsurf Magazine to let your readers know about the new
personal diaries section that I've built for it. They allow people to record, share and analyse their windsurfing sessions. Anyone can
read other members diary entries and look at each others statistics for any given month / year. Theres also a 'Hall of Fame' which
shows the most active members and 'Most Stoked' members. It also records and displays your equipment usage. Quite a few people are
using it already, but it will become a more useful resource once more people use it.
I know that it has already encouraged a few people to get out on the water more often than they normally would, which has to be a good
thing for the sport of windsurfing, and the fact that the diaries are fully searchable means that people will be able to look up
certain locations to see which wind directions etc. provide the best sessions and see who is sailing where and using which
equipment.
Its all free and easy to use and can be found at http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/diaries_frames.htm
It would be good to get some people using the diaries who sail in different locations. Mind you with nearly 250 entries (70 so far this
month), the diaries are filling up nicely.

Well the above might save people the £3.20 they needed to spend in WHSmiths.
But there's lots of other good stuff in there, (bar the fact they don't have any Reef adverts)

Hmmm... methinks the resident whingebag needs to add a spot of cynicism here!
Yes, I was impressed at Al¥s plug on the back pages of Wundsirf (sic) Mag too... but I have to say, I only bought it for the New
Zealand feature. That I enjoyed.
But what about the rest of it? Is reading about what talented, hard working, but ultimately Rich Kids living on Daddy¥s money in
Maui eat for lunch and pay for a round of golf going to inspire me? Do I need a 5-page (yes, FIVE PAGE!) article telling me how to
lift my foot & put it in the strap? Then of course, all the smug "Me & my mates who are really cool & you¥re not
because you¥re not one of us" articles from the usual icons of cool smugness. Maybe I¥m just too cynical, but I prefer the
down-to-earth approach of Boards.
I hate to be a creep, but most of my inspiration comes from the everyday guys on this site fitting their hobbies in with their real
lives.
And no, I really do have nothing else better to do right now...
