August - is there wind in Bristol

Can anyone tell me if there is wind in Bristol during August? If so what would be the average wind speed (as in what size kite to bring).

I am from Margaret River OZ and will be there for a few days in August.

Can be good around that time particularly if there is a west component to the wind. The channel acts as a funnel and you can get a doubling effect to the wind.

I have used Weston Super Mare area a bit. Water is a bit muddy on big tides and because of the size of the tides they are only usable about 2 hours either side of high water. After that the beach that is exposed is to muddy to use and dangerous.
