Rhosneigr this thursday (26th July)

Just wondered if anyone was going up to Rhosneigr this thursday as the wind looks pretty good. Windguru is saying 20knts SW most of the day.

Sorry... just a little too far for me to travel when I should have similarly good conditions on my doorstep here in Borth.... I should make a trip up North sometime soon though if I can get a few others to join me.

Borth

Hi Al Im afraid i have never sailed at Borth before, although I have sailed Dovey estuary. Will you be sailing there tomorrow? What is it like for a novice wave sailor?

Yep. I'll be there tomorrow. It can be a little hectic for a novice, but you can always take cover in the estuary if you like.

However, if you can sail on the sea at Rhosneigr I would imagine you would be OK at Borth. The beach itself is pretty safe... Gently shelving, no rocks etc. The waves can get fairly big, but there is never a nasty shorebreak. It is an ideal place to learn to sail in the waves. As long as you are on a smallish board and are comfortable with water-starting then it will be perfect.

Al.
