SPEEEEEEEEED!!!
Just read on a different site there is to be an assault on the waterspeed world record led by none other than E11 Dunky!
hola
just want to inform you that we are allready in fuerteventura and we are
"ready for speed"
We try to make a new waterspeed worldrecord.
at the moment a trimaran boat -YELLOW PAGES - have the record
46,52 knots
86 km/h
We have our own speedcourse in fuerteventura till 14. august.
Proof, the spanish company 55 knots and Neilpryde made the equipement.
We worked the last weeks on the finetuning in Gran Canaria at the Proof technology-center
together with Carlos Sosa and the Proof crew.
Rody Lewis (fastest windsurfer open ocean 500 meter 44,6 knots) and i (43,8 knots 3 years ago)
are doing the windsurfing.
i will keep you informed.
(attached our speedboards)
saludos
bjorn dunkerbeck E-11
I reckon given the right conditions they could do it, I have a video of Roddy Lewis, Thierry Bielak and Cris Prin-Guenon doing over 40
knots in about 1994 or 95 so given the advance in kit I say its about time to get the record back off those weird looking boats...

Cool, lets hope they get the wind they need and manage to break some records... I guess Bjorn needs a new challenge now that he isn't
PWA World Champ.
It must be mad doing those sorts of speed on a tiny little board though.

Don't think they've had the ideal conditions yet, looks quite bumpy in some of the pictures/videos too

Maybe not perfect conditions yet, but I've heard reports that Mr. Dunkerbeck has clocked a 54 knot run....unofficial though I think as
it was only a training run.
Check out http://www.proofboard.com/news/index.html for more info..... He's got married as well.

well it's over
"We certainly gave it our best shot, but we could not overcome the lack of the Passat winds. The 20 to 30 knots winds made it
impossible to challenge the existing record" Bj–rn
