kiting around bristol

Hello,

Just arrive in Bristol from France for work. I took my kite stuff with me. I need to know where to go to have fun safely. This site is excellent... but so complete, i wonder which beach to start with.

Also, where to look for the tide schedule ?it looks quite important to avoid low tide in the bristol area

Finaly, where is the closest kiteshop from Bristol ?

hope someone can help

Hi Serge... Best beach to head to will be Weston Super Mare as there will be plenty of other kitesurfers there. Tides are Very important in that area. The Severn Estuary has the 2nd largest tidal range in the world so you can only kite-surf for a couple of hours either side of high-tide. Don't be tempted to stay out any longer as the tide goes out really quickly leaving you with a trek for miles through waist deep mud.

Try http://www.kitestore.co.uk/ for a kite shop in Bristol.

Al.
