I usually buggar off to France for the summer. Usually the swell dies down in summer...but i dont know how much because i dont surf
here often around that time, the spring is good enought though.
My favourite spot is Croyde Bay down in North Devon...but because its one of the two best spots in UK it gets crowded.
Here's the webcam...the waves have died down over the last couple of weeks.

hey Mr Simes,
GAAAD i miss REAL waves...over here in the UK if u want waves from what i've heard you need to travel to the hebrides islands in
Scotland...maybe even Pembrokeshire? I'd rather take up kitesurfing unless u want to travel big distances like to
Spain/Portugal/canaries for some decent waves.
I'd recommend you speak to surferDUDE Shem..he can recommend some spots!

Leo, you just need to know where to look....
North Cornwall is about the most consistant but you can also find some classics in South Wales. If you fancy a short trip I can
strongly recommend parts of Ireland....

Yep, we certainly have the quality here, it is just the consistency that is lacking... The most consistent areas have all been
mentioned, Cornwall, N. Devon, Pembrokeshire, NW Scotland and Ireland... All of which are better in the winter than the summer
though.

Last summer I went to Newque (I think its called?) It was so crap. Like half foot waves with about 1000 fully wetsuited freaks on
these huge spongelike surfboards. Never experienced anything like that before!!

Sennen cove is said to be superb! Yup definately some good places mentioned...Newquay is crowded with "kooks" but its good if
conditions are right and you take away the people...still debating whether to go down there myself.
Im sure Wales has some decent places as well? This used to be a Wales based website and i dont think anyone has mentioned it yet. I
know a member on here from Borth, she says its usually good and fairly consistant.

Last time I looked Pembrokeshire was in Wales, and that has been metioned twice.... The person from Borth is talking rubbish... It
certainly isn't consistent and very rarely good... It can of course be surfed... I've just been out surfing here, but it is a pretty
poor beach break wave with very little shape or power and rarely any size.

there are so many sick waves in cornwall but everybody seems to go to newquay the only reason that its full of kooks in summer is that
all the locals never surf there there go out of town to find perfect uncrowded surf and to be truthful fristral is fucking crap its
week crumbly and never realy barrels that much . plus ive been to oz and i saw my far share of kooks there to ,i think that everybody
needs to start somewhere . dont you ..?
stay stoked

Absolutly sweet photos dude Really captured the waves well, and for the
UK they're looking great.
That's got me stoked again, really wanna get in the water now.
Did you take those photos yourself and have you tried doing some in the water with a waterproof housing for the camera?

England has the shittest surf on the planet. Aus is heaps good if you know where to find it. there was 3m waves in sydney when i was
there and you can walk to the beach and it is a big city. and in western aus there were 5m wave in this remote spot and the locals
boast up to 10m occasionall, which some people die on. victoria has bells beach and there was the perfect break there and the (goldi is
for shit surfers thats why the locals bail. everyone knows surfers paridise it the spot. when i was there it was a prefect right hand
barrel that was 2m and was about 70m long. some people were using jet skiis to get out there faster. the locals were friendly not kooks
an they said it sometimes gets to 5m and they tow people on with jets skiis. lastly you have to wear these massive steamer in england
and you still freezing, in aus i was wearing board shorts because it was 40c in sydney and around 35 everywhere else

Only people that dont surf properly would comment on Britain having crap surf. 5 years ago for example, the surf at Pra sands south
coast cornwall, was voted second best stop of the whole world tour, beaten only by Tahiti. Although we arent as consistant as some
countries and certanly not as warm, the quality of our surf , especially Wales is second to none. Some of our points are easily as good
as places such as Burleigh, Ulus ansd other world renound points. You just have to get out there and find it, rarther than go to one or
two high lighted beaches which are publicised by local councils. Rant over!

Oh and surfers paradise is generally a crap wave, it closes out all the time, I lived there for ages, and as much as its a bit of fun,
generally its a bad wave especially on ausssie terms. The only good wave there is Burleigh heads, which isnt actually in surfers. Oh
and it gets mega crowded. head down to Kirra however and its a different kettle of fish!
