Kombat
Has anyone sailed the Starboard Kombat? What is it like, is it as versatile as the adverts say?

Tim,
Big Al in our shop has sailed both the 95 and the 105 and says that they are basically good for bump and jump, a bit of wave riding
although nothing too big and quite fast on flat water so I guess you could say they are very versitile.
Some thing to note though is that the very early ones that are in the shops are around 800 or so grams heavier than the full production
models that will be available. There is a good reason for this.... Basically when the first batch where completed they were made to a
full double sandwich construction, kind of bullet proof so the likes of Scott McKercher and Levi Sliver wouldn't be able to snap them.
It was then after some deabate agreed that the target market for the board was probably not Expert or Pro sailors doing 30 foot jumps
and stalled forward loops. Therefore this has allowed them to go for a different construction making a massive weight saving whilst
still maintaining a solid board for the likes of you and me.
I have asked Starboard to get one of the 85 (yes it does exist) or 95 litre versions so that I can have a go myself to make my own
opinion of the board, I should get this by the end of Jan so I'll be able to give my own views sometime in Feb - if the weather is
kind to us.
Hope this helps, if you are interested we do have a 95 on display in the shop now, so you can come along and have a touchy feeley
session..... if you so desire.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Hans.

Thanks - Kombat
Hans,
Thanks a lot for taking the time to tell me. I'd like to take a closer look. Do Boardwise have it in the Cannock shop? Is that where
you are, as I'm up that way in a couple of weeks time on Sat Feb 4th.... Could I demo at the Chase as a friend of mine is a member
there.

Tim,
The 95 is at the Cannock store yes. If we have the demo board in by then you are more than welcome to have a go on it. As for going
up the Chase and using it - you'll have to clarify this with your mate. I know they have some rules on this sort of thing, but not
sure what they are to the letter if you know what I mean.
Hans.

Any one had any more experience of sailing one of these
was looking for board to fit in between a wave board and
a 7m sail light wind board. Also whats the best size to go for
85 or 95. I am about 60Kg.
