Strike 2

Just been reading the latest news about the Strike 2 (hopefully we'll have them here for demo purposes early next year)...

Shem, you wanted the details, but couldn't open the files, so I'll post some stuff here.
The main things I noticed were...

New 21m version. Line up = 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 & 21m
Optional 5th line system....with new safety and relaunch system. The 5th line also allows more direct control of the angle of attack which will increase the top end of the wind range.

Of course they also say lots of other things are improved such as increased hang time, greater stablity, faster turning on large sizes, more 'progressive' turning on small sizes etc etc.

A few good things on the construction side though:
Reinforced batten pockets, collapsible battens on larger sizes for easy storage, plus a few other reinforcements here and there.

Can't wait to get my hands on one.

Al.

the biggest kites pack down to the 9m size because of the collapsable batons

To Infirmary and beyond..

Sure does look sweet, however I really think the strike, ( original ), is still a wicked kite, how much can they improve it? Gagin 2 get on the 21 mind. I can just about keep up wind on the 17 in 9-10 knots on me 125, whats the 21 gonna do!!!! and how floaty are those jumps gonna be. Think Ill start eating extra pies allready, 2 make sure I can hold it down!

the bloody bits of wood at the end of the kite cabrinha call power transfer rod oh and don't forget the carbon bit. they like to wear out the ends of the kite after a season of use. the strike is a nice kite. but i must say kites with no poles at the end seem a better idea. and they pack up real small.

Theyve changed the end of the batten to a "T" piece, this stops them wearing through. As standard battens do wear through.
