Yesterdays wind...
There was no wind in the morning but it was forecast to pick up in the afternoon.... Sure enough around midday it started to fill in in
Aber and by 1pm the sea was covered in whitecaps and the trees were a-swayin'!
Needless to say I knocked off work early and drove home. Once in Borth, it as dead still, not even a puff. there was a nice little
clean wave though so I stood on the beach watching that for a while to see if it was worth getting wet for. Chris joined me and I told
him how windy it was in Aber (I don't think he believed me). Then I could see a little wind line on the water so I pointed it out to
Chris and we waited for it to arrive. 5 minutes later and there was a little breeze. Within 10 minutes there was enough for kiting so I
headed home to get my wetsuit on and my windsurf kit as I was sure it was soon going to be 20 knots.
But then the rain came down with a vengeance and once back in a nice warm dry house, getting into a soggy wetsuit and rigging in
torential rain for half an hour on the water didn't seem too inviting. The wind did pick up properly and there would have been plenty
for a windsurf session, but I decided to stay at home and earn some brownie points instead.
