I'm sure we can sort this out for you. It is proably the way that windows processes dates on your local computer. The format should be dd/mm/yyyy. Sometimes computers have it as mm/dd/yyyy depending upon which country you are in. Sometimes windows is installed with the dates like this and you have to manually change it under control panel/regional settings/customise/date (for windows XP anyway). Could be slightly different under ME/2000. This could be crap though in which case I have no friggin idea but being a techy person I have come across this problem before. Go find it, go on.

That shouldn't be a problem as the dates are stored as unix timestamps and then formatted using PHP, so system settings shouldn't be involved.

Occasionally of course the php server gets a little confused and may format things incorrectly, but this is usually fixed pretty quickly by my webhosts and usually only happens if there has been an update or fresh install of the php software....

of course, I don't use windows, so it could be that mucking things up I guess as it has a habit of doing such things!

blah I don't know much about web hosting i must admit but it might be worth niell checking his local PC settings cause it appears to be a one-off and no-one else has reported it it seems. Mind you I don't actually know what is wrong with the dates he sees.

24/02/896C a 08:30pm the zero before the 02 though comes up about half the size as the other numbers.
this is what is coming up as the date of bananamans last reply to my posting on this computer, does this give any clues?
ps i am using the computer at school as is generally the case, unless i am in the library.
OH ITS NOT MY EYES IS IT??????????

Neil.... It only does it on your posts!!!

Maybe theres a little gremlin inside your computer!!

Its pretty bizarre though.... I'll have a look in the database later and see what exactly you are storing in there.. Normally it just enters the unix timestamp (the number of seconds since 1st Jan 1970) and then the scripting behind the forums works out the date from there.... I did think that the current time was determined by the php server though, noit my an individuals computer, so I don't really understand... Maybe theres some strange setting in your profile as far as the time offset goes...

I'll have a look later.
