on the beach when i came to pack away ;
black stretchy cord with plastic snap fastners ,maybe for fastening around kite? or safety leash?

Yep... Sounds like the leash attachment from the Strike... Col took them off at one point to show how stable the kite was when set up
leash-less and to do 'handle-passes' on the beach with it...
It must have got left behind... Thanks for picking it up.
Now all we have to do is find the bar and lines that Graham left behind.
