South Coast
Where are all the South Coast sailors / kiters?? There must be some on this forum, where are you all??
Where on the South Coast will everyone be this weekend, its looking as though there will be quite a blow and I don't wanna B out there
on my own!

Not sure where im going this w/e. HW is around mid morning in Worthing, Wittering, Hayling locations. I was thinking of going to
Branksome but again not sure.
Most likely end up in Worthing in the afternoon as its easy for me to get to.
If it stays SW for sat and sun then im sure Pagham will be busy - great wave sailing (for south coast).
If you are lookign at Weymouth area then spencer and & a few others are the ones you need to speak to. Check out the diaries for
locations.
Looks like it will be pretty windy wherever you go - where do you normally sail?

I'm looking at Weymouth on sunday, if I can shift this sodding cold!
Hopefully picking up a new 5.0 tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully be able to use it........

Looks like it will be far too windy for a 5.0m. I'm worried my smallest sail a 4.5m will be too big. But it's not going to stop me!
I'm praying for a bit of sunshine to come with this wind, not constant horizontal rain.....

Nah, 20-25knts is OK on a 5.0 - I can hold my 6.5 down in about that

Harry - if its wes im thinking of believe it about hanging onto a 6.5 in 25knots!!!
I think it was Wes who went out in portland on Force 10 saturday hangin onto a 4.7 or something?
Im in a simialr postion - smallest sail is 4.2 and I hope it wont be to windy as its just pure survival and you learn nothing.

Sorry Wes - I accused you wrongley of going out in a force 10 on a 4.7. It was Griptool - i've just checked the diaries.

Nope I was geeting smashen Poole Harbour on a 5.7 in those winds, and no, I couldn't hold that down! 
Right Windsurfing shop and overdraft here we come......

Yes I had a 4.7 rigged but i cant claim much sailing, I got mullerd
I was also punished last sunday at portland on my 4.7 so ive collected a 4.2 rock today for tommorows fun
So, as i will have a sail small enough thats likely to kill the wind, so keep your fingers crossed

BXFS - I know what you mean about being bothered to derig then re-rig a smaller or larger sail - especially when its cold - just stick
with it and then pack up later.
Looks like it blowing hard - just waiitng for the tide to drop off then may get an afternoon sail in. HW at the moment and the shore
break looks a killer.

Just rig EVERYTHING when you get to the beach and you are still warm, then you can be ready for whatever the wind does.
I don't do this, but it sounds like a good idea. I do sometimes rig a couple of sails but rarely more than that.
It does always seem a hassle to change up or down a sail size, but it only take 5 minutes and can make the difference between a really
good session and a crap one. Its definitely worth doing, but only if you can leave the sail you were using rigged as well... Otherwise
you can guarantee that as soon as you derig it the wind will settle down and be perfect for the sail you started with.
