MTB Rides week beginning 15th Sept
justal - 15-9-2008 at 12:29

Evening ride this week is Wednesday 17th September. This should also allow a few of the more road-orientated riders out as the TT season has now finished and some are looking for something else to do in their Wednesday evenings.

This weeks venue is Nant-yr-arian. Meet at the usual car park at the base of Hippty Hop at 7:00 pm or 6:00 pm at the war memorial in Penrhyncoch for a ride up. Ride the Summit trail plus the original Italian job and maybe the small DH section above.

The nights are definitely drawing in as shown by last week, so bring lights. There are two spare sets of lights, so if you want to borrow some then let us know via this forum so that we know to bring them. Maybe bring something warm for the end of the ride as it can get cold later on.

Not sure if we're riding at the weekend yet.

End-of-month ride is the weekend after next on the 28th September. Traveling south again, a bit further to Talybont-on-Usk to ride the Gap trail one of south Wales classic rides. We will meet at 8:00-8:30 to arrive down there for 10:00 with the potential for some locals to come along as well and show us round (not definite as yet). More details next week.

There's also a ride early (6:30 am) on either Saturday or Sunday, riding up to Nant and a choice of trail afterwards. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll let you have more definite details.. I'm not sure if I'm doing this one or not yet.

Had a good ride last night. For the first time in months we had clear skies, no wind and pretty much perfect conditions. The trails were still a little wet, but it was perfect for a quick and easy spin around the Summit Trail.

Looks as though we shall be out for an early morning ride at the weekend as well.. Will decide which day tomorrow based on the weather forecast. Anyone else up for it??
