Passing Fronts

We had one hell of a weather front pass over us today..

Take a look at todays graph (you might have to wait until tomorrow for it to be uploaded) from the weather station... All hell broke loose at around 4.30pm.

First we had an epic katabatic wind this morning 25 kots plus in the estuary (Good old Ivor). Following the decent katabatic wind this morning the wind gradually eased off all day. At around 4pm we went across to the beach to go for a swim with Morgan. When we got there the temperature was over 30¬?C and what little wind there was was SE. 5 minutes later, the temperature had dropped by 10¬?C, the humidity had shot up from 25% to 75% and more importantly the wind was SSW and gusting to 30 knots.!!!

Read my diary entry to see what happened next.

Looks like we weren't the only ones to get these sudden changes in weather over the past few days:

quote:
At 16.45 yesterday afternoon, a severe squall ran through the Wash, which hit Hunstanton Sailing Club's Regatta causing 48 out of the 50 boats present to upturn, depositing a total of 82 of their occupants into the water. The initial call was made from Snettisham beach where other boat users were similarly affected. Boats from this area began to drift towards the Heacham beach, and calls for assistance were received.
