Is anyone goign to Poole this weekend for the festival? I'm going down Saturday morning, forecast looks good. I'll be there in my Volvo car and on my red axxis board if anyone wants to say hello

Looked for you, but did not see you.

For the others, wind was OK, but not great. Lots of competitiors and a bit more kit than last year.

Nick Dempsey was there as was Guy Cribb, there were supposed to be a lot of other high profiles people around as well. Tomorrow looks like more sun, but maybe less wind, but I still think its worth a trip instead of DIY :-)

See you there?

Hi Seanbo, it was quite busy wasn't it! I parked up by the harbour as it gave OK access to that. A friend of mine (Mike) had a lesson off Robby Swift. Myself and my brother in law sat on the grass bank and watched a detailed "how to vulcan" technique class. Thing is it took him 2 years to get it right himself! The weather on Saturday was terrible. Mike had a VIP pass to the party on Sat night, but I couldn't get in as I'd left it too late to get a ticket. Still the wind later on Sunday was good. Tim

Saw this on the BBC website. Sounds like a bit of a strange race....maybe they should have made the mountain bikers do it in the water!

Well I was there as well, and I thought the weather on Saturday was great! I was on the 6.5 off of sandbanks, then changed to the 8.0 in the harbour. All of it on my new board (an F2 stoke)
The party was great, really relaxed atmosphere, despite the massive amounts of beer drunk. Infact, I ended up having so much I actually thought that ripping off my clothes and jumping into the sea straight afterwards was a good idea........
Still, top weekend, and I managed to avoid buying any new toys!

I got there about mid-day sat. Wasnt much wind, the slalom sailors i saw were using 8.0-9.0m with hypersonics etc...i saw Tristan Boxford but that was it for top sailors? shame the sun didnt come out....
