here is part of an email from Paul who builds the mad eel boards might be of interest to some of you surfer dudes ;he is currently out in shri lanka surfing.
we're still having a great time here in arugam bay, we're at the Hillten hotel which is on the internet if you want a look. watch out for the spelling though. had a few days of sunshine but mostly cloudy, just as well as its very hot in the sun. got a good tan now. surfs dropped off alot now but had a good session this mornim\g in head high cleah walling waves on the p0oint. went to a point break 1 hour down the coast by rickshaw a couple of days ago. we were the only ones out , pefect head high. saw an elephant on the way back, 50 feet from the road, and some jackals snuffling around. lots of trees down and much obvious wave damage. hard to beleive it just goes on for thousands of miles.

really cheap here. we pay 5$ per night for the room each and you can get an as much as you can eat veg curry for about 50p, 660cl beer for 70p perfect and not any real toilet problems yet!!

we've been here for a week and a half now and still having fun. surf a bit crowded but theres loads of other points with no one out within an hours tuk tuk ride and it hasnt dropped below head high the whole time.
